Hello My fellow Travelers! Since I have been working quite a bit at the moment, I have earned some money to go traveling again! I have been thinking about heading to New York next month (yeah short notice, I know), and Amsterdam during the new years. Can I afford it? I will focus on one trip at a time. I will post if anything happens anyway! Today I´m gonna write about a eurotrip that I did with some friends. it was in 2006 during the football/soccer world cup in Germany. We started of in Denmark, where we spend a couple of days just chilling, and since we had some time before Berlin, because one of my friends had tickets to a game, We went to Gluckstadt, which was a nice little town. I got sunburned as hell though. And then we went to Berlin, and saw the game outside of the stadium, which was awesome! People from Paraguay (it was Sweden against Paraguay) mocked us all the time, and when Sweden scored in the last minute, they went quiet! After the game we spent some time seeing Checkpoint Charlie, a bit of the Berlin Wall, the Reichstag and so on. After that we to Paris, seeing Champ Elyssé, Arc of Triumph, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, the Louvren. Next stop was Nice, which at one point I got lost and tried to get back to the hostel, and it took me 3 hours to get back. After Nice we had some discussion on where to next, we traveled past Venice, Italy to Croatia, but then we decided to get back to Venice, and we got there in the middle of the night, and had to sleep outside of the train station. Venice was a nice town, worth checking out. and then we headed to Croatia, via Zagreb to Split, which at the first night me and one of my friends slpet in one room and the other two slept in another room, didn´t see much of Split, because at this point I was worn out, and needed to catch up on my sleep. We then headed to Makarska (still in Croatia) which we stayed at a friend´s mothers friends house, and here the water was so salty, that salt clogged in my ear, which totally knocked me out, it was so bad that we went to the hospital. As we were talking shit in swedish, we notice the doctor looking at us, apparently he knew some swedish, and took us in right away. He looked in the ear (which actually cleared the clog) and subscribed some medicine, which we didn´t use. When that was over, we went to Bulgaria and Sunny Beach. We went trough Serbia, and got stuck at least one hour on each side of the border between Serbia and Bulgaria. and during that trip a smuggler came in to our cabin and put some of the contraband in our cabin. In this post I will talk about My first time in London. It was the summer of 2007, I got a job as an Au pair outside of London, with a lovely family (which I visit from time to time). I did see a lot of the tourist stuff, like London Eye, Abbey Road, Big Ben amongst other stuff, strangely enough not Madame Tussauds. I did went to a premiere of Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix, in which I managed to get Emma´s, Rupert´s and Daniels aoutgraph, and even J.K Rowlings autograph. Since I visited London again (7 times in total), I totally recommend to travel over there. Since my first time, I have seen a Premier league game, watched some musicals, and met some wonderful people.
Hello! My name is Peter, A.K.A The Swedish traveler. This blog will be mostly about traveling. I´m saying mostly because there´s a possibility that I will write about ordinary things as well. The reason that I started this blog is that I do write a swedish blog, so I felt that I need to write in english as well. The inspiration for my blog was when I was traveling to New York for the first time (and only time so far) in 2013, so I wanted to write about it. Here´s a video of me talking about New York. A goal of mine is to visit every continent before I die (and while I got the time for it). I have visited 4 out of 7 so far. North America, Africa (visited South Africa, both Johannesburg and Cape Town), Asia (Hong Kong) and obviously Europe. It might be hard to visit Antarctica, but then again, I hope I can afford it. When I travel outside of Europe I use Momondo.se, and depending on where in Europe I use SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) or Norwegian.com. I mostly stay in hostels, for that I use Booking.com or Hostelworld.com. |
