The Offspring Concert Review!

6/28/2016

Hello!
I´m almost a week late with my Review of The Offspring Concert in London last week!

The Opening acts was good, Templeton Pek and Bad Religion was pumping it up!

Since they haven´t gotten any records to promote, they played a lot of classics!
The Offspring started off with You´re gonna go far kid, which was awesome!
Later on they played songs like Come Out and Play, Million Miles away, Bad Habit, Cool to Hate, Session (which surprised me!), Genocide, Have You Ever!

The Positive things I have about the concert was they played some songs that I haven´t heard them play before, as Cool to Hate, Session and Americana!

The Gripe(s) I have is that they didn´t play my favourite song, Gone Away, and If I had to choose one song from Ignition, I would listen to Dirty Magic!

What do I give the Concert?
5/5!

Review of The Iron Maiden Concert in Gothenburg

Hello!

Hopefully you have seen the video compilation of the Concert!
What did I think of the concert?

Bare in mind, it was my first time seeing them.
In the great whole, the concert started off relatively slow, because they played quite a few songs from their latest album, which I admit, aren´t familiar with at all.

When The Trooper came up, the concert picked up, but sadly, the audience noticed the mic glitching out.
At this point they started mixing up both old and new, Hallowed be thy name, fear of the dark and wasted years was a few that I enjoyed!
The drawback of the Concert was that they didn´t play Run to the hills or Wicker man!
What rating do I give the Concert?

I will give it a 3.5/5. Because The mic glitched, and they didn´t play said songs!

Going back to Sweden!

I totally forgot to write about me going home on my last post, so here we go!

After getting back from the concert (read my last post) I went to bed all sweaty, and had a terrible night of sleep, as I was getting up early to get the tube to Heathrow.
I got up at 6.30am to pack some small things and got to the tube, took me an hour from Kings cross to Heathrow airport, so I got there about 8am.

I registered in my bag, and when I went to the bag drop, the guy tells me that i´m on standby, which is very weird because I paid for the trip a couple of months ago. So I went to the help desk, and they apparently block some seats for other people, so she helped me to get a seat, I still managed to check in my bag.

When I got on the plane on Heathrow, The plane took forever to lift, as it was standing on the gate like 20 minutes after departure time, and it was hot like hell, and I was sweating like crazy, and after an horrible night, I was getting a cold as well.
The plane finally lifted and headed to Copenhagen. Which I had to spend a few hours on, I grabbed something to eat, and the flight from Copenhagen was 20min late as well.

The flight took off as well, I had little more than an hour to get from terminal 5 in Arlanda (Stockholm) to get to the domestic terminal, and I did manage to exchange left over currency, and go through security on time. I even managed to grab some dinner (Max Burgers ftw!). As the flight time was approaching, the flight was delayed again! Third time in a row!
It took off about 15 minutes late, and I finally got home! To find out my bag wasn´t there! Fudge!
The day after, I still haven´t got it yet!

Day 4, The Offspring and Going home to Sweden!

Hello! I am back in Sweden now!
The last day I spent going to Canary Wharf and Greenwich village, having a look around!
I later went to Tottenham Court Road to have a look into Primark, but I didn´t find anything worth buying!
I then went to Camden to have something to eat and grabbed a few Scented candles (which I always buy when I´m in London)!
I went back to the hostel to have a nap before the concert!
After the nap and having some dinner, I took a shower, and went to Hammersmith, to see The Offspring, They were two "Opening" acts, First were a band called Templeton pek, which was decent enough, then it was Bad Religion, which got the crowd going! I know of them, but haven´t heard anything from them, but they were good!

Then The Offspring Came on! Since they don´t have any recent album to promote The Setlist focused on a wide range of their hits, playing a lot from their older albums, They even played a song from a record before Smash (The song Session from Ignition, an album from 1992). It was a big shame that they didn´t play Gone Away, one of my favourite songs!

What did I think of the Concert?
I think it was fucking Awesome! I have grown up with the band I love every minute of it!

Arriving in London and being all of the place!

Hello!
Now I have spent one and a half day in London.
The Journey started on Saturday, with getting up at 7am, to walk to the central station and take the bus to the airport. When I got there I realised I had too much time to wait, because the check in has´t opened yet.
When it finally opened I checked in my bag and waited for my flight to Berlin, Which went ok.
I had a few hours in Berlins airport, which was actually my first time being there, which might be good to get a feel of the airport when i´m heading there with my brother.

From Berlin I flew to London Heathrow, which is my go to airport whenever I fly to London, I have flown to London City Airport once though.
From London Heathrow I took the subway (or the tube) and went from there to Kings Cross, where I have my hostel.
The first Evening I spent I went to grab something to eat, at a place called Ed´s Diner at Euston Station (one stop from Kings Cross) which became a regular thing whenever I´m in London, and I went to Camden town to see if anything was open, which it sadly wasn´t. So I walked up to Primrose Hill, and took in the view! Later i went back to the hostel, being tired from the trip.

A full Day!

The second day started Early, not that I wanted to, and I thought I could get to Kew Gardens early and have time to explore it, since I haven´t been there before, So I arrived there at 9am, and got the message that they opened at 10am, so I wouldn´t waste time and wait, so from there I traveled to Notting Hill and Portobello market, I arrived when people started to unpack their merchandise on the tables, so there was´t a lot to see (I can recommend going there on a saturday after 11am), so I took a walk down portobello street and back to the tube station, and went to Tottenham court road, where a store called Primark is, to see if I could find some clothes, but they opened at 12, and I arrived at 11am. Bad timing all day apparently.
From Tottenham court road I went to Covent garden and having a look around at the market square over there, and grabbed som lunch.
I took a stroll from there to Leicester square and on the way I found a comic book store and bought some Punisher comics, I noticed some swedish people and we talked for a bit!
I went to Trafalgar square and apparently there was a festival of sorts there, and I didn´t have a ticket for it (since I didn´t know there was a festival there) So I went in the National Gallery, seeing a lot of beautiful paintings, which was actually the first time being there as well.

From there I though I would take another chance at Kew Gardens, So I went there again, and When I got there, it was a 15min line to get in. When I finally got in I noticed how beautiful! The Scenery was amazing! I will post a video just for that!
I spent over 2 hours being there, by the end I noticed my eyes were starting to itch (probably some pollen allergy, I haven´t confirmed if I have it or not), so I went back to the hostel and uploaded videos from Gothenburg, because the hostels WiFi is bad at times!
What do I have planned today?
I will go and check out Wembley stadium, and check out more of Camden town, and go outside of London and visit some friends!

Day two and day three!

Hello!
The second day I spent going to Wembley stadium to check it out, it took me a few hours to find it, because I got off the wrong station and took a long walk to finally find it! The sad part is that i rain all morning and I became soaking wet! After that I went to Camden town and grab something to eat before heading back to the hostel to take a shower and change some clothes, and hanging by the computer for a bit.
At 3pm I went to the Euston station and going to Berkhamsted to visit some friends! Me and my friend Adam went first to the driving range and hit some golfballs! Got some burns on my hands, because i´m not used to playing golf, like ever!
Then we went around the countryside and hanged out for a bit, before grabbing something to eat, and the we went back to their house and chilled a bit before heading back to London! Good Times!

Day Three!

Day three, I woke up later than I used to, by 8.30 and chilled by the computer for a bit, passing the time until I´m meeting up with another friend from Birmingham!
When Chris showed up We went to Camden town to grab something to eat, and walked around a bit, before heading to Covent Garden, going from there to Leicester square, Chinatown, Trafalgar square, The National Gallery and Buckingham Palace, before heading to Piccadilly Circus, grabbing some donuts.
After that we headed to Harrods, looking through there merchandise, saw a bag that cost over 39.000 GBP (which is over 500k in Swedish Kronors!!!).
Then we headed down to Tower hill, and seeing The Tower of London, Tower Bridge  and HMS Belfast, chilling between Tower Bridge and London Bridge.
We then headed to Westminster and seeing The House of Parliament and Big Ben, and the London Eye, we planned on getting into toe London Eye, but Chris could´t afford it, so we grabbed something to eat, and went to Primrose hill. When we got up there, My stomach begin to churn, and when we took the tube down to Euston, I needed to go to the bathroom really bad, and Fortunately, I made it in time, it was some intense shit!

We sat and chilled for a bit before his train left. It was a great day!

I have uploaded some footage of the Iron Maiden concert!

Iron Maiden!

Hello everybody!
The day started with an (almost) sleepless night, because the room were very hot during the night! So I packed my bags and checked out by 10am, and went to the central station to wait for my friends, who were coming by lunchtime!
When they arrived we grabbed a beer (well they grabbed a beer, and I grabbed a coke) and we checked in to an apartment (through airbnb), after that we looked for a place to see an football game (or soccer in America), we found a garden with a restaurant, so we could see it. We saw Sweden play against Italy, which we lost by 1-0.
After the game we went back to the apartment and chilled for a bit before the big Concert, Iron Maiden.
It was my first time seeing them live. We came the Ullevi in time for the second opening act (Opeth), which isn´t my kind of music!

What did I think of the concert?
I thought it was good, it had a rough start though as they played a lot of songs from their new album, which wasn´t that good. But when they played their hits, it started to pick up. The Concert had some mic problems as it was glitching out in a few songs. The biggest shame was that they didn´t play Run to the hills and and Wicker man!
As of right now, I´m sitting at the airport, going to London via Berlin. Gothenburg has treated me well, and someday I will spend a long weekend just in Gothenburg!

Here I am Gothenburg!

I have arrived in Gothenburg!

The day started early, as I woke about 7am, not intentionally of course, and chilled a bit.
I booked a cab (or taxi if you will) to pick me up at 10.45, as none of my family or friends could drive me to the airport.

I packed my stuff, and when I arrived at the airport I realised I forgot my ticket to the Offspring concert in London. So I asked the driver if he could drive me back so I could get it, which he was nice nice to do (but bare in mind it cost me 200 SEK more (SEK = swedish kronors)).

So I got back, with my ticket, to the airport, I had still a lot of time left, as the flight was at 12.50 pm.
When I went through Security, I met a Co worker, who was going to Paris, and which we chatted for a bit.

The flight went smooth. as it´s only domestic flights, I didn´t have to switch terminals, so I could grab something to eat before the flight to Gothenburg.
Conveniently the gate was the same gate as I arrived in, but the flight was 15 min delayed. Didn´t matter that much.
The flight to Gothenburg went smooth as well, got my bag kinda quickly, and took the bus to central station in town, and walked a 40min walk to the hostel, which I have booked for the night, in which I have stayed in before, last year, when I saw Metallica.
So now I will maybe chill for a bit and maybe go explore, as my friends arrive tomorrow!
